Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has released a statement on Edo politics, as he backs the decision of the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress to disqualify Governor Obaseki of Edo State.

Governor Ganduje said he is putting his weight behind the national Headquarters on their decision on Edo politics, arguing that, the party is more worried about legality than any other consideration.

According to the statement released by Abba Anwar who is the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, the governor had said this during media interactive session with working journalists in the state, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Monday.

“Our party, the APC, is very conscious about the legality aspect of it. Not any other consideration. Do you remember Bayelsa state governorship election? We won the election, but the issue of legality took away that victory from us,” he argued.

Governor Ganduje explained further that, “We are more worried about legality. I am sure that the national headquarters of our party is doing what it takes to win the election. We have all our strategies in place.”

The governor challenged that, such political ups and downs are very common in politics, adding that ” What is happening there, is nothing to be afraid of, thinking whether it could cause any harm. There is nothing like that, we are putting everything in place to get our victory.”
