Preparations have commenced ensuring social distancing at the nation’s airports when flights resumption on the 21st of this month.

Already, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has started floor markings and demarcation of areas within and outside the airport terminals where passengers are expected to occupy or stay when buying their Flights tickets or waiting for other airport activities.

Other health safety measures are also ongoing at the 5 Airports approved to be opened on the 21st.

The Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA, Dr Musa Nuhu had last week in a letter informed the accountable Managers of all foreign and local airlines of its approval of the Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port-Harcourt and Owerri Airports for flights resumption.

Already, some airlines have started putting finishing touches to their preparation to commence Operations.

One of the domestic airlines have announced through its website what their airfares will be.

The airfares showed that Economy class will be N34, 500 while Business Class will go for between N111, 600 and N162, 000 to Abuja, Port-Harcourt and Owerri from Lagos.

There are also seats called Economy saver for N48, 000, N66, 000 for economy Flexible.

Other airlines are also expected to announce their airfares days before flights resumptions.

On June 2, 2020, Federal Government announced that domestic flights would resume on June 21 and directed airlines to take between 50 and 70 per cent of passengers on any flight.
