Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission Boss Gets Tenure Renewal

Governor Ganduje of Kano State, has renewed the tenure of Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado as the chairman of the Kano state Anti-Corruption Commission.

The State government in a statement released on Wednesday 22nd April 2020, stated that having satisfied by the achievements recorded during his first term in office, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, as the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has decided to extend the tenure for the second term, as the first term expires by the end of next month, May 2020.

As the tenure comes to an end next month and by virtue of the Law establishing the Commission, this development of tenure extension, makes his tenure abridged leaving no vacuum in between. “It is important to know that the Chairman was able to steer the Commission in the right direction, to become a subnational example of both Ombudsman as well as anti-corruption agency in the country,” the governor said.

Barrister Rimingado, according to the governor, was instrumental in reshaping and redirecting the state anti-graft body to be more visible and people-centred. “As we don’t interfere in its activities, the Commission performed wonderfully well during the first tenure of Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado,” governor appreciated.

Governor Ganduje maintains that his administration appreciates the efforts of “Barrister Rimingado’s led public complaints and Anti-corruption commission in the services renders to the public more especially in the areas of dispute settlement, protection of human rights as well as recoveries of funds, particularly to the most vulnerable people in the society at no cost.

This shows how patriotic and committed he is to the development of the state and the nation at large.” He promised to continue with the good policy of his administration of zero interference with the Commission’s activities under it’s Law as clearly manifested in its five years performance under his administration.

Ganduje charges the Chairman to redouble his effort to continue to serve the state and the nation at large, adding that “Modern way of the Commission’s performance will be in place to serve the state more better. All in line with the global best practice.”
