Davido has confirmed that the mother to his son, Chioma has tested negative twice for coronavirus, weeks after she was confirmed to have been tested positive for the virus.
An excited Davido taking to his social media page on Sunday 19th April 2020, made the announcement saying:
“Glory be to God .. Chioma has now tested negative twice for Covid19 … Thank you all for prayers …. We love you,” he said.
Davido shocked millions of his fans when on Friday 27th March 2020, he took to his social media to confirmed that his fiancé and mother of his son, Chiom tested positive to the coronavirus, and has been quarantined. He had said that she tested positive after she and their son returned from London.
The singer who also returned to Nigeria after cancelling his tour in America, had said none of them is showing any symptoms of the virus, after confirming the status of his fiancé, but had said he has decided to go into self-isolation for 14-days.
He had said:
“Hey everyone! I came back recently from America after canceling the tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby.
“We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history, we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March,” he said.
He continued by saying:
“Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby.
“We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever.
“She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self-isolation for the minimum 14 days.
Davido also thanked his fans for the show of support while urging them to adhere to directives from the government and health officials, by staying at home so to control the spread of the virus. He said:
“I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as everyone to please stay at home as we control the spread of this virus! Together we can beat this! Love, D,” he added.
Chioma joins a long list of Nigerians that have tested positive to coronavirus after the first index case was identified on February 27.
