Diddy who trended through out Easter Sunday into Monday, said contrary to popular belief, him shutting down Lizzo’s twerking session has nothing to do with her plus-size figure.
The rapper addressed the accusations that he fat-shamed the “Juice” singer after he cut off her twerk-a-thon prematurely then allowed Draya Michele to booty pop up a storm while raising nearly four million dollars for the current relief fund.
Fans were quick to point out the indiscretion with many accusing Diddy of fat-shaming Lizzo by allowing the model to twerk
Lizzo and Draya Michele were not the only familiar faces that joined Diddy for the fundraiser session. Drake Demi Lovato, and even his ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez joined in on the fun which turned heated during the “Cuz I Love You” singer’s portion.
Diddy and Lizzo began dancing to “1 2 3” by Moneybagg Yo when at one point, she began bending over and twerking. “Stop the music,” he requested before stating, “It’s Easter Sunday—let’s play something a little bit family friendly.” While the dance fundraiser carried on, many were quick to notice that Diddy didn’t stop other stars when they began to get risqué on camera.
Fans took to social media to slam Diddy for the double standard. But addressing the situation on Monday, he said:
“There’s one thing that I want to make clear—my queen, my sister Lizzo,” he said before revealing the reason was because the song had too many curse words.
“She’s one of the best twerkers in the world, ok, so let’s keep that clear. It wasn’t about twerking. You’re allowed to twerk on Easter.”
Diddy continued his explanation by stating, “It was a lot of cursing in the record and I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand?”
He then showed love to Lizzo. “Lizzo, we love you,” he stated. “Everybody, stop looking for the negative. Look at the positive, man. Let’s go to the love.”
All in all, Diddy’s dance-a-thon collected a whopping $3,725,820 and the number continues to climb.
