The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have bid a final farewell as they were driven away from the Commonwealth Day Service, their last public engagement as senior royals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the event along with other members of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey on Monday, coming after Meghan did a solo outing on Friday, where she was well received.
Leaving the Abbey the Sussexes made their way out of the Great West Door, the duchess crouching down to chat to children who were handing out bouquets to the royal women.
Harry gave a farewell wave to some of those gathered inside the Abbey gates.
As their final official duty as working royals came to an end, the couple held hands as they walked towards their car before they were driven swiftly away.
At the farewell, Harry and Meghan shared what looked like an awkward and restrained greeting with Prince William and Kate as they took their seats at the service. Meghan gave Kate a little hello and a wave, and William gave his brother the ol’ head nod … Harry smiled and said hi back.
Although Prince William and his wife Kate are yet to fully state how they felt about the two leaving, and even though they wished them well, there is still the rumour out there that there still exists bad blood between the two brothers.
