Tornado: Taylor Swift Donates $1m To Victims In Tennessee

Singer Taylor Swift has pledged the sum of $1million to the victims of the deadly tornado in her hometown of Tennessee.

The singer who was being quoted by a spokesperson, Tree Paine according to the report obtained from CNN, confirmed that the sum was donated by Taylor Swift to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, which supports the communities hit and nonprofits helping the victims.

“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,” Swift posted on Instagram on Thursday, encouraging her fans to donate, too.

Others who have joined in with Taylor Swift on the donation are Singer Chris Young who announced that he would be donating $50,000 to the foundation, Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant donated $10,000 to relief efforts, and other top names directed their fans to various foundations and other relief efforts.

Other groups have donated funds to nonprofits on the ground, including the Tennessee Titans, which also chipped in $1 million.

Other top country music stars have also contributed and shared their sadness with the victims of the tornado in Tennessee on their various social media handles, including Taylor Swift.

The president of the United States, President Donald Trump also paid a visit to the Nashville to see first hand the havoc wrecked by the tornadoes on Tuesday, where 24 people were reported dead and some still missing, with buildings destroyed.
