Popular talk show host, Wendy Williams has come in the defence of Malika Haqq, after she came under heavy criticism when she revealed on her Instagram page that she has booked an appointment with a plastic surgeon for her Post-Pregnancy makeover.
Fans had criticized her for booking an appointment with the Doctor for her post-pregnancy makeover, when she is yet to have her baby. But Wendy Williams called the move a well thought out move by Malika, asking those questioning her to take several seats.
Wendy reassured Malika that the people criticizing her online were just envious, plain and simple.
“[Malika] looks really pretty pregnant,” the talk show host said on her February 26 show. “She’s being mommy shamed because she’s planning her mommy makeover before she gives birth. And Instagram people are calling her spoiled and shallow. Gee, jealous much? Let me tell you something.
She can go to the gym, and she can go hiking and all that stuff. You know, if you have the money and you have the bravery, and you’re not going into debt. Your kids are still getting taken care of and there’s a roof over your head, why wouldn’t she?”
Wendy revealed that she actually had a post-pregnancy makeover herself after the birth of her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., now 19.
“Look, I had two five-month miscarriages,” she explained. “By the time I got to the sixth month with young Kev, and I knew I was in the clear — I weighed 297 pounds the week before I gave birth. And honey, at my sixth month at birth, I had the surgeon on the phone at bed rest. I’m like, ‘I want this, that.’ Yes! Nobody has time to gym down after this catastrophe… I had all my stuff, I had the full makeover line.”
Malika only recently revealed to the world that rapper O.T. Genasis is the father of her baby during her baby shower with friends and family members with her to celebrate.
Her revelation, confirmed fans speculations that OT Genasis who is her former longtime boyfriend is actually responsible. It turns out that they both wanted to keep it private as long as possible to avoid unnecessary rumours.
Sharing a photo of OT Genasis and her self at their baby shower said:
“Relationships don’t always work out the way we would hope but between love & friendship we have created a baby boy that will be here very soon. I’ve been single the last 8-months but I am in no way alone” she said.
She continued with:
“OT Genasis and I have attended every doctor’s appointment and over all loved on our son together while anticipating his arrival. My priority over the past few months has been to nurture and protective my unborn child. Our baby would not be who he is without his father and I thank God for the spirit that grows inside of me. Only thing that matters, we are Baby Flores parents” she added.
