The reigning NBA MVP, and Milwaukee Bucks star,Giannis Antetokounmpo has confirmed welcoming a son with his girlfriend, Mariah Riddlesprigger.
The man who is fondly called the Greek Freak on Monday, took to his Instagram to share a photo of his longtime girlfriend cradling her baby bump in a photoshoot, as he announced to the world that his son has arrived.
Although it has been almost seven days since the news broke that the Antetokounmpos welcomed a new addition to their family, a piece of news which Giannis himself shared on his official Twitter handle, but last night, he reminded fans of the greatest gift he has just received from his partner, Mariah Riddlesprigger.
Giannis Antetokounmpos who missed the game against the Kings to be with his partner Mariah as she was in the labour room, shared the good news and also confirmed the name of their baby to be Liam Charles Antetokounmpo.
The photo he shared on Monday was the second time he will be sharing a piece of news about his son. The first one was on the Tuesday 14th January 2020 when he threw a baby shower party for their unborn child with only close family members in attendance.
Giannis Antetokounmpo taking to his social media page, shared some photos from the baby shower, showing very proud soon to be parents and family members wearing big smiles as they wait patiently to know the sex of the unborn child.
Giannis’s mother and two brothers were present, while Mariah was glowing in her pink dress.
Antetokounmpo could not hide his excitement about becoming a dad when he had learnt his partner was pregnant in October last year.
“We’re excited about having our first baby, I don’t want to talk too much about it. I want to concentrate on basketball and leave family issues at home, but yes, we are expecting a child. We are happy, my mother is happy, so are my brothers. I’m happy about it, I’m excited. It’s not here yet, but I’m looking forward to it,” he had said then.
The news was first announced in October 2019 on Mariah Riddlesprigger’s Instagram, with a photo of a baby Bucks jersey announcing “next Antetokounmpo” on the back, a stuffed animal giraffe and the note saying “Baby Freak coming soon.” The post’s caption reads “MVB ‘Most Valuable Baby’ on his way.”
