Chelsea are back to winning ways, as they thrashed local rival, and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur 0-2 away from home.

Chelsea outplayed Tottenham Hotspur in both halves, and did not allow enough room for Spurs to carry out their counter attacking football as erroneously set up by Mourinho. They also had much of the possession, and unlike the previous games they played against big teams, where they outplayed them and ended up losing, they were ontop of their game for the entire 90 minutes.

The 3-4-3 formation proved effective for Frank Lampard’s men, who had Tomori and Alonso returning into the first team. The formation saw Tomori, Zouma and Rudiger all playing together for the first time, and getting a clean sheet.

Chelsea won the match inside the first 45 minutes courtesy of Willian’s superb curling finish and a penalty from the Brazilian awarded by VAR after Spurs keeper Paulo Gazzaniga had flattened Marcos Alonso.

The Sunday night game was one of the worst derby games for Spurs and the second time Frank Lampard will be defeating Mourinho as a manager in two meetings.

The game was a good game to watch, but there was a reported case of racism chants directed towards Antoni Rudiger. The alleged racism happened when Rudiger was involved in a second-half incident that saw Tottenham’s Son Heung-min sent off.

Son  was later dismissed, following a video assistant referee review, for raising his boot in a clash with the German centre-back near the touchline

Shortly afterwards, Rudiger, 26, appeared to gesticulate that he had received racist abuse from Spurs fans.

Chelsea drew the incident to the attention of referee Anthony Taylor and three subsequent announcements were made over the public address system warning that racist behaviour among spectators was interfering with the game.

The match was also held up when objects were thrown towards Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, capping a miserable afternoon for #Spurs and Mourinho against his former club…#chelsea
