A groom was reportedly beaten to death at his wedding reception by two men in California.
According to the report by Evening Standard and NBC, the groom identified as Joe Melgoza, 30, died from blunt head trauma in hospital following the incident in Chino, east of Los Angeles, in the early hours of Sunday.
The family of the late groom said Mr Melgoza, who had an 11-year-old daughter, was attacked at the reception following his marriage, NBC reports.
They claim the party, in the13300 block of Oaks Avenue, was crashed and then violence broke out when those who were not invited were asked to leave during the altercation.
A fundraising page, set up after his death, said of Mr Melgoza: “Joe was a loving son, brother, father, cousin, partner, family member and friend.
“He always had a way to make you smile. He was there for you at any time to give a helping hand.”
City of Chino Police Department confirmed it had been called to an incident and made two arrests, made later on the day of Mr Melgoza’s death
In a statement, officers said: “Upon arrival, officers encountered a large crowd from a nearby wedding party. Officers located a male victim who suffered blunt force trauma to his head.
“Officers began life-saving efforts and he was transported to Chino Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
“Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident.”
