The newly crowned Miss Universe 2019, and South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi has thanked her fellow countrymen and women for their support, and also fans around the world who have been sending her congratulatory messages since she was crowned Miss Universe 2019.

The beautiful 26-year-old Zozibini Tunzi since crowned Miss Universe 2019 at the weekend, has been getting congratulatory messages from around the world, and mostly through her Instagram page. Her page has also witness huge growth since she bagged the prestigious title of Miss Universe on Sunday, to over 2million followers.

The South African who without a doubt, has had an eventful and stressful week, still managed to take to her Instagram page on Tuesday evening, to appreciate all the love from around the world. She shared a lovely photo from the night she was crowned Miss Universe 2019 and captioned it with this message:

I wish I was able to respond to each and everyone but it’s impossible. I want to thank you all so much for the lovely messages and support. I knew I had my country standing with me on that stage and it is evident in every kind word you have said to me. And to my new family, from all around the world, I thank you too for your well wishes and love❤️” she said.

Zozibini Tunzi represented South Africa at the 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition where she beat other 90 contestants to emerge as the winner. The ceremony was held on December 8, 2019, at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States.

In her closing speech, the 26-year-old spoke of breaking colour stereotypes and wanting to empower young women. She said:

“I grew up in a world where women who look like me with my kind of skin or my kind of hair are not considered to be beautiful, I think that it is time that this stops today. I want children to look at me and see my face, then see their faces reflected in mine”.
