The U.S Lawmakers have passed a resolution formalizing the ongoing President Trump’s impeachment inquiry. The votes showed Republicans voting against, while only two Democrats voted against, with Independent voting in favour.
The votes show:
Democrats: Favours: 231, Against 2, while just one abstained,
Republican: All 194 voted against, while 3 abstained,
Independent: 232 voted in favour, while 196 voted against, and 4 abstained.
The approval of the House to formalize the Trump’s impeachment inquiry, which also saw Speaker Nancy Pelosi voting, has been generating a lot of tension, with President Trump and his campaign office calling it an attempt to illegally remove an elected President.
President Trump minutes after it was announced that those in favour of the Impeachment inquiry won the votes, took to his Twitter handle to express his frustration, where he made a tweet saying:
President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, also reacted to the just-passed House impeachment inquiry resolution, where they released a statement saying:
“an attempt to remove a duly-elected president for strictly political reasons.”
“Today’s vote merely proves that the entire impeachment process was a sham from the beginning,”
He added: “Voters will punish Democrats who support this farce.”

“Every American can see this for what it is: an attempt to remove a duly-elected president for strictly political reasons by a strictly partisan, illegitimate process. Today’s vote merely proves that the entire impeachment process was a sham from the beginning and Nancy Pelosi can’t legitimize it after the fact.
We can all read the transcript of the Ukraine phone call for ourselves and see that there was no quid pro quo and no basis at all for overturning the legitimate results of the 2016 election. Voters will punish Democrats who support this farce and President Trump will be easily re-elected” he said.
No official statement yet from the White House or Speaker Pelosi on the result, as the investigation continues on the Trump’s impeachment inquiry.
