Xenophobia: Madagascar rejects friendly game with South Africa

The isolation continues for South Africa, especially their National football team the Bafana Bafana, as just a day after neighbouring country Zambia called off a friendly game between the two countries, yet another African country Madagascar has rejected the approach by SAFA for a possible friendly game between both countries.

In a short statement released a few hours ago, on the official social media handle of Bafana Bafana, the South Africa officials released the news expressing their regrets, saying:

“SAFA regrets to inform the public that the match between Bafana Bafana and Madagascar scheduled for this coming Saturday (7 September) has been called off after the visitors (Madagascar) decided to withdraw from the encounter.”

The friendly game between Bafana Bafana and Madagascar was planned by SAFA to replace the Zambia match after they cancelled due to the ongoing Xenophobic attacks against other African Nationals in South Africa, but now the Madagascar National team have also rejected their approach.

This is definitely not a good news for the Bafana Bafana players who have been training for the International friendly game at the Orlando Stadium, first against, Zambia that was cancelled, and then Madagascar that has also been called off!

The players and the new coach are now left with doubts if they will get a team to play with before Saturday, as it seems no country will be willing to be seen playing a friendly match with a country that is killing and burning their fellow blacks, chasing out their own African brothers and sisters and calling them foreigners in Africa.

Madagascar is clearly joining other Africa countries to condemn South Africans for how they have handled Xenophobic attacks over the years, and isolation is what countries are now adopting.

Hopefully they get a team to play with or take on a local team, while their Government look for a lasting solution to end the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
