Mrs Busola Dakolo confirms her interview with the UK Guardian, as she clears the air on how she was forced at gunpoint to sign letter countering her rape case with the senior Pastor of Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Bidoun Fatoyinbo.
The alleged rape case which is still being investigated by the Police was one of the trending topics on social media on Wednesday, as the interview granted by Busola Dakolo was released to the public, where she alleged that she was made to sign a letter denying that she was raped by the said pastor.
The allegation against the Nigerian Police comes a few weeks after a tinted mini-bus followed her while she was driving into her home in Lagos, and thereafter she and her husband were invited by the Special Tactical Squad of the IGP for questioning over allegations of “falsehood and criminal conspiracy.
Busola Dakolo confirming the story said she granted the interview to UK Guardian two weeks ago, saying:
“Thanks for the goodwill and best wishes.
The interview with the UK Guardian was held two weeks ago when the police came to my house. It is not a new interview.
I did not sign a counter-petition or acquiesce to any counter-petition.
I am very grateful for all those who have reached out, including from institutions that are to help us get justice” she said.
In the interview with UK Guardian, she narrated how she was forced into a van by some armed men, who mandated her to speak with their superior officer in Pidgin English language.
She also recounted how she was handed a document containing allegations of “criminal conspiracy, falsehood, mischief and threat to life” to sign. According to her, the contents of the letter were not against Fatoyinbo, but against her and her husband.

Her words: “One was holding a gun and the second, a letter. They told me they were from IG’s (Inspector-General of Police) office in Abuja, and that I needed to sign this letter and acknowledge it.
Our culture doesn’t allow speaking of these sorts of things against anointed men of God. They’d rather hide it, and the party that is being victimised tends to live with that self-blame.
The damage on the survivor is extremely terrible, but the society, the church, keeps sweeping things under the carpet.”.
Timi Dakolo also confirming that the rape case is still ongoing, appreciated his wife for her courage, saying:
Our legal and police case continues. This has not ended by any chance. This is about many young girls who must know they can get justice when they speak. I continue to be resolute and thank you for standing with us.I LOVE YOU BABY @busoladakolo
