According to reports, two people have been reportedly injured in the Raptors’ NBA victory parade on Monday, in Canada, as thousands flee the parade after gunshots were heard somewhere in the crowd.

Police were called after shots were fired at the rally for the Toronto Raptors’ NBA victory celebration, with Police confirming that two people were found seriously wounded. But Prime minister Justin Trudeau who was in attendant, Toronto’s mayor and the Raptors players remained on stage while the ceremony was interrupted by the shooting, as crowds fled.

Two million fans had gathered to cheer the parade through the city before it was briefly disrupted by nearby gunfire. This was as per metro UK.

Neither of the victims are believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, Toronto police said on Twitter. Two people have been taken into custody and two firearms were recovered, police said. The investigation is still ongoing

The Police reports that the shots were fired near Nathan Phillips Square,Bay St and Albert St, the parade’s final destination, causing a chaotic scene toward the back of the huge crowd. However, the incident caused only a brief pause in the celebratory speeches, which were still going on.
