The Attorney representing Eric Holder, the alleged shooter and killer of rapper Nipsey Hussle, Christopher Darden has been receiving multiple death threats from unknown persons for agreeing to defend Nipsey’s killer.
A few days after Erc Holder was arrested after he was suspected to have shot and killed his friend Nipsey Hussle in front of his LA store, his Attorney Christopher Darden who appeared in court with him pleaded not guilty to the murder charges brought against him.
Christopher Darden who has not been the only one at the receiving end, as his family are also facing the same threats and public humiliation just for doing his job. He has received numerous threatening message on social media, as most people want him to hands off the case.
Some of the messages Darden received include:
“C**n bastard I hope you die.”
“You a sell out garbage ass ni**a.”
“You a bitch.”
“Shame on you for taking on the Nipsey Killers case. You doing the entire culture a disservice.”
Many people have been questioning why Darden would agree to take this case considering Nipsey is such a beloved person. Most expected Holder to be represented by a public defender. According to documents in Holder’s prior cases, this is the first time he has had private counsel.
Jenee the daughter of Darden was the first to speak out about what she has been facing since her father decided to defend Eric Holder. She said she has been“receiving vile comments and messages”
“Like many of you,” she wrote, “I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling through social media. I was not prepared for this backlash that has triggered bad memories from the O.J. Simpson trial.
She added that she has “no say in the cases he takes on.”
It is not strange that Darden and family are going through tough times, as any public defenders will understand that it is all part of the job, which does not mean they are taking any side…just doing a job.
