Neymar celebrates 10years since his debut as a professional footballer, as the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star man, put up an iconic photograph of him in a Santos shirt on his page to mark the special day.
Born Neymar da Silva Santos in 1992, he made his professional debut with Santos at age 17. He later went on to helped the club to win two consecutive Campeonato Paulista championships, a Copa do Brasil, and the 2011 Copa Libertadores, which was Santos’ first Copa Libertadores since 1963.
Neymar was also named the South American Footballer of year twice, before leaving for Barcelona in a big money move, that was later subjected to some legal proceedings. He later joined PSG (to allegedly move out of Messi’s shadows) in a world record tansfer fee, where he is now world most expensive footballer.
Neymar celebrates the day with this photo, where he says the meaning of his last name is to Dare! He said:
“It all began in this photo … look of who wanted to realize his dream fast and of who dreamed high.
In those 10 years I won, I made a mistake, I lost, I made a mistake, I tried, I made a mistake, I regretted and I learned a lot. I put many “errei” because my life as an athlete was this, PERSISTENCE … not be afraid to make mistakes and make mistakes, I put my face back … I am like this in LIFE and especially in the field, I’m sorry but it’s my style of the game.
I have done many things in these 10 years, many achievements and victories that will be marked for the rest of my life, but I have also had defeats that will remain learning.
God, thank you for the gift you gave me and for the joy I feel in playing soccer .. I love this object that is called “BOLA” in an inexplicable way.
If 10 years have passed and still I keep dreaming and I will do my best and sometimes the impossible to achieve them.
Daring is my last name
