Real Madrid crashed out of UCL after losing 1-4 to Ajax

Real Madrid have been knocked out of this season’s UEFA champions league, after an embarrassing defeat to Ajax in the second leg of round of 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.

The result means that for the first time in three seasons, the competition will be having new champions as Real Madrid have been winners for three straight seasons, and with Cristiano Ronaldo of course!…lol….

The win by Ajax means the Dutch side qualifies to the quarter finals on a 3-5 goal aggregate, there by compounding what is already a terrible month for them Real Madrid. They lost at the Real’s Copa del Rey, LaLiga all to Barcelona, and now the Champions League which they were hoping to win, Ajax took that away from them, ending the three-year reign as kings of Europe.

After they were robbed in the first leg through VAR, Ajax came to Spain wearing their hearts on their sleeves, as they showed class and Real Madrid were no match for them, as technically and tactically the Dutch side were superior.

The likes of Dusan Tadic and David Neres leading the way in a breathtaking display of football that evoked memories of Ajax’s dominant teams of the early 1990s.

1.- Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Nacho, Reguilon; Casemiro (Fede Valverde, min. 87), Kroos, Modric; Lucas (Bale, min. 29), Vinicius (Asensio, min. 35), Benzema.

Goals: 0-1, min. 7: Ziyech; 0-2, min. 18: Neres; 0-3, min. 62: Tadic; 1-3, min. 70: Asensio; 1-4, min. 72: Schone.
