New York Knicks have announced that they have traded All-Star forward, Kristaps Porzingis, and guards Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Courtney Lee, to Dallas mavericks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr, DeAndre Jordan, and Wesley Mathews and two future first-round draft picks.

Knicks trade of Kristaps Porzingis seems not to have gone down well with fans as Knicks since the announcement, have been getting a stick for the move.
According to New York Knicks, Porzingis (7-3, 240) holds career averages of 17.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 31.0 minutes per game in 186 games (185 starts) with New York.

He averaged a career-high 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and a career-high 2.4 blocks in 48 games (all starts) for the Knicks last season en route to being named a 2018 NBA All-Star.
Porzingis suffered a torn left ACL against Milwaukee on Feb. 6, 2018, ending his 2017-18 season. He has yet to play in 2018-19.

The statement on their latest trade by General Manager, Scott Perry reads:

“As is standard for this time of year, we were exploring various options on potential trades,”
“Considering the uncertainty regarding Kristaps’ free agent status and his request today to be traded, we made a trade that we are confident improves the franchise. We thank Kristaps, Tim, Courtney and Trey for their contributions and wish them all the best.”
