Popular Nigerian singer and rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has started the New Year with the release of his new single tagged Talk, where he allegedly took a swipe at President Buhari on his constant trip to London, and other Politicians as well as Nigerian pastors and Muslim Rights Concern group, MURIC, as Nigeria prepare for general elections next month.

As the 2019 general election draws near, the Falz useed lyrics of the song to address critical leadership issues and advised Nigerians, especially the youths, to speak up for what they truly want.

Falz who constantly goes from his popular comic character to this  activism, is clearly leading the way both in the music industry, and on the outside, as that one person that speaks out against the Government when he feels there is a need to, and this song, is just one of those times.

He said of the album: “There is a dire need for us to redefine the concept of humanity and morality.

“There is a pressing need for re-education and re-orientation of the people, for this is the only way we can restore sanity.”

The music artists came to limelight after his song “Marry Me” (featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade) won him a nomination in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” category at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

In 2018, Falz released a controversial audio/visual song “This Is Nigeria”, a mock-up of American rapper Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” and this new song Talk which he released online a few hours ago, seems to be a follow up to that and Nigerians are already loving it.

The controversial “This is Nigeria” where he addressed societal issues prevalent in Nigeria, including SARS brutality, codeine abuse, and killings in some parts of the country, violence and corruption in politics, policing, and religious bigotry.

Here are some line from his latest song, Talk:
4 years tenure, 3 years holiday”
“We buy your story but you no give us change”
“In 2019, 19,800 alawee”
“3 private jets you say you buy am for church”
