The viral video of two men granting an interview on National television (Television Station not known) on RAPE and child abuse and them referring to a girl child as a sexual being, has been generating a lot of condemnation from the public, and the likes of Waje and Mr Banky W have come out to also add their voices in condemning the statement.
The yet to be identified men in the video had frowned against children (making a particular reference to a girl child between the ages of 5-7) walking about with bum-shorts, saying it is provocative and could lead any man to want to commit a crime of rape…and many more other unprintable things that were said by the men on the video, which understandably has been causing outrage.
In all, the two men have been labelled a paedophile, while some are calling for their immediate arrest for their statement that targets innocent children, especially the girl child.
Mr Banky W while reacting to the video, put out a statement saying:
This is one of the most disgusting videos you will see this year. THIS MINDSET is the problem. And the guy said “how is a child not a sexual being?” ARE YOU INSANE?!?!? A 5 or 7 year old child and you have the guts to talk about bum-shorts?!?!?!?! This is the real mindset of way too many men in Nigeria. This is why 1 in 4 of our girl-children have been sexually abused. And some of our boys too. We have a lot of behaviours to un-learn.
The idea that it’s not the fault of a sick, twisted, perverted individual who commits the sexual abuse/offense.. but that it’s somehow the fault of the victim because of an outfit. We just engaged with the Mirabelle Center about their treatment of sexual abuse victims. They’ve treated over 4,000 patients (all free) – but get this, their youngest patient was a 3 month old baby girl.. and their oldest was a Grandma in her 70’s!!!!! We have a mindset that must be wiped out entirely. This is not okay. Not sure what tv program this is, but that these 2 men could actually CONFIDENTLY make these statements shows just how terrible some of us think. For the sake of our children and our families… Everyone should speak out against this. Everyone.

Waje while reacting to the video that has gone viral, took o her social media to put out this statement, calling the men stupid. Waje said:
Wow!!! Wow! My good people of Nigeria, these men are making excuses for RAPE? Please explain to me how two grown men would come on air and show stupidity!!! “ something you have to understand about human beings and what they see” really? “How is a child not a sexual being?” We are finished o! I want to believe or rather I believe we have MEN that are not sexually mental cause this is a pure display of madness! So it’s not enough for women now cause from what I’m watching, our children are now not safe.
True men should come to our aid for the sake of their daughters or future daughters
