Mark Hughes sacked by Southampton over poor results

Southampton has confirmed the sacking of their manager, Mark Hughes, just a few days after an impressive result against Manchester United, which was a 2-2 draw at the St Mary’s ground.

The management of Southampton with the sacking, seems to have finally yielded the advice of many, over the abilities of Mark Hughes as a manager of the club, given their tradition as one of the very few clubs in the English Premier League, known for their beautiful style of play….which obviously Mark Hughes do not have appetite for..lol..

The club made the announcement that they have parted ways with the former Manchester City manager on Monday, and have appointed a caretaker until a new manager is announced.

Funny enough Mark Hughes sacking did not surprise many, as, given his previous engagements, especially that of Stoke City, with all due respect to his person though, he was the wrong man for the Southampton job. It is better they get rid of him now, than wait till the end of the season, and get relegated from the Premier League.

Hughes was appointed as Southampton manager in March on an initial deal until the end of last season but after maintaining the club’s Premier League status was rewarded with a three-year deal in May.

Southampton under Mark Hughes has registered only five wins in 27 games and currently in the relegation zone, going into the busy period of December.

A Southampton club statement read:

Southampton football club can today confirm it has parted company with first-team manager Mark Hughes.

Assistant first team manager Mark Bowen and assistant first team coach Eddie Ni dzwievki have also l from the club.

We would like to express our thanks to Mark Hughes and his staff for all of their efforts during their time at St Mary’s

The search for a new manager to take the club forward it’s already underway.

First team assistant coach Kelvin Davis will lead the team for Wednesday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley…”
