.According to an unconfirmed report, the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is again alleged to be under siege, as heavily armed Policemen and thugs invade the Assembly Complex in a move to allow for five alleged decamped PDP members to impeach the State Governor, Udom Emmanuel.
This situation was also confirmed by the National Publicity of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Kola Ologbondiya in a statement released a few hours ago.
Mr Kola Ologbondinya condemning the move of the alleged siege on Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly said:
“The former members of the State House of Assembly are back to the Assembly complex this morning. with heavily armed Nigeria Police and thugs.
We call on all Nigerians to rise in condemnation of this heinous crime.
“The whole idea behind the recent onslaught by Senator Godswill Akpabio’s sponsored sacked members of the state assembly is to cause mayhem, generate tension with a view to make the state ungovernable. This is criminal and unacceptable ”
The alleged five recently sacked former lawmakers were said to have stormed Akwa Ibom House of Assembly with heavily armed policemen and thugs, took possession of the mace and are set to impeach the speaker, suspend 21 members of the assembly and commence proceedings to impeach Governor of Akwa Ibom.
