French midfielder and world cup winner, N’golo Kante has signed a five-year new contract extension with his club Chelsea, as the 27-year-old looks to end his career at the club.
N’golo Kante who only joined the London side in 2016 a year after winning the English Premier League with Leicester City, has had an incredible career in the last three years.
He won the league with Leicester, joined Chelsea, and won the League again, together with some individual aawards.These remarkable achievements continued, as N’golo Kante and his fellow French countrymen won the FIFA world cup in Russia, after a disappointing Euros finals.
The midfielder since the beginning of this season under a new manager, Maurizio Sarri, has seen his role changed in the new Chelsea system, as he has been pushed forward, and although he seems like a player that his struggling under the new system so far, he has been effective playing from the wing to win the ball further up the pitch from the opponent half.
Kante after putting pen to paper, said:
‘I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come. Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about. I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.’
Club director Marina Granovskaia added:
‘We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea. When he arrived, we knew we had signed a special player but he has astounded everybody with his tireless and unselfish displays.
‘Off the pitch, he remains a dedicated professional and a humble human being despite the fact he is a world champion and a two-time Premier League winner. We now look forward to five more years with N’Golo at the heart of the Chelsea midfield.’
