Nigerian singer, Waje, a few hours ago, took to her social media page to share some good news she received from her home state, Edo State, as she was honoured with an excellence award for her work and for being a good ambassador of the State.
Waje who was presented with the award at the just concluded Alaghodaro women summit, in her appreciation message stylishly threw a shade on her State for initially doing the discovery of her singing talent through scholarship, and later discarded her, said she is grateful for everything especially for the award.
Taking to her social media page, putting up the award on her page, she captioned it with this message:

Everyone who knows me well knows I love my country. I love my state Edo state, my city, Benin city, a city that discovered me as a little girl who had a voice, gave me scholarship cause of that voice and sadly rejected me still.
Today meant too much to me. I wasn’t even aware I was being awarded anything until I saw my name boldly written in the program.
I am being celebrated at home. Isn’t that amazing. Thank you to my Governor, his excellency Godwin Obaseki but heart goes to my mama Her Excellency Besty obaseki for for inspiring me. uncle Olu akpata, Commisioner Ero and many more.
These ones have opened their arms to me.
