Breaking: Aaron Ramsey wins goal of the month award

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been awarded the goal of the month award by the English Premier League FA for October.

Aaron Ramsey beat other contenders  Ricardo Pereira, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Andre Schurrle, Roberto Pereyra, Riyad Mahrez and Anthony Martial, to the award, as his goal against Fulham was adjudged the best goal for October, to win the award.
“Delighted to win Carling Goal of the Month for October for our team effort v Fulham last month ??” On the goal, he said:

“‘Auba’ crossed the ball and it was slightly behind me so I had to try and adjust, and that was the thing that came into my mind first, to try and flick it back towards goal,” said Ramsey. “Thankfully, it went in.

“I think we’ve been renowned for scoring some really good goals as a team and that was just another example.”

His impudent flick was all the more impressive for the fact that Ramsey had only been on the field for 39 seconds, having just come on as a substitute.

“I was delighted to be a part of it and finish it off, and it’s definitely right up there [with my best goals],” he said.

“It was a brilliant ball in because we were 2-1 up at the time and it was a difficult game where Fulham were definitely coming back into it, so we needed that other goal to settle us back down and make the game more comfortable.

“I’m glad I had that impact.” He said.
