Wizkid's Star-boy Jersey to go on sale on Nike stores

Star-boy Jersey to finally go on sale on Nike’s stores on Monday, September 10th 2018, as announced by Wizkid himself a few hours ago on his social media page.

The Surulere inspired Star-boy Jerseys which was a collaboration with one of world’s renowned sportswear designers/brand Nike, is the Afrobeats king first attempt at kick-starting his own fashion brand, following in the footstep of his friend, and British-Nigerian rapper, Skepta, who has a clothing and a shoe line, also in collaboration with Nike.

The Star-boy jerseys have been endorsed by some of the superstars in world football, who are mostly of African origin and Nigerian Super Eagles players in the English Premier League. From the likes of Arsenal’s Aubameyang to Kelechi Iheanacho and others who have shown support to the Star-boy brand, it also received some appreciation from entertainers and British veteran model, who is also a friend, Naomi Campbell.

After a successful Pop-up shop in London and New York City, it is now time to launch the brand on Nike stores, that has somehow, become the number one choice for Nigerians, especially after what they did with the Super Eagles kits at the just concluded Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Star-boy brand has different features concerning Lagos, telling the stories of Ayo Balogun, his music and road to stardom.

This is a big plus for Wizkid, who at the moment, is the biggest musician out of Africa, and that man that has taken the Afrobeat music genre to another height, that even Europeans and Americans are now becoming interested in the music genre inspired by the late King of Afrobeats himself, Fela Anikulakpo Kuti.

The likes of Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, and Dede Mabiaku, have also contributed in no smaller amount to the growth of Afrobeats, which the likes of Wizkid and other Nigerian artists are benefiting from today…congratulations to Wizkid on this latest achievement…
