Vice President Osinbajo has been honoured with a Chieftaincy title in Osun State by the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo was honoured with the traditional title of Olori Ogun (Olorogun) of Yorubaland by the Oba at his Palace in Iwoland, Osun State.

The Vice President who was in Osun state on Monday, 3rd September, 2018 to launch a small-scale business scheme in the state, was joined by the Governor of the State Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and some cabinet members to Iwoland for the official launching of the scheme, and his eventual Chieftaincy title.

Professor Osinbajo who paid a working visit to the ancient city of Iwo to inaugurate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) at Odo-Ori market, and stopped over at the palace of Oluwo before the official inauguration of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at Odo- Ori market square in Iwo, said the Scheme is one of the Government initiatives at alleviating poverty amongst Nigerians.

Professor Osinbajo at the launching of the scheme, reiterated severally the readiness of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration at implementing plans to empower 360,000 MSMEs annually, and the people of Iwoland are fortunate to be among the first sets of beneficiaries of the scheme, which will spread to other states in Nigeria.

The launching of the Trader-Moni-Scheme which is a Federal Government Enterprise and empowerment program for petty traders.

The scheme as launched by Professor Osinbajo, will see petty Traders given the sum of N10,000 collateral free loan for Petty Trading, at the initial stage, then depending on how they repay back the loan, traders can see the amount increased to N15,000 and above on prompt repayment.

The Presidency has assured Nigerians that the scheme for this year alone, will be targeting to reach at least 2million people by year-end across the country, and It has already been launched in Katsina State, which is the home State of the president, President Muhammadu Buhari, and other States are to follow.

Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi while giving out the Chieftaincy title to Professor  Osinbajo, said. It was a glorious day in the history of Iwoland as he received the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Ngieria Olorogun Yemi Osinbajo and the people of Iwoland are more than honoured to be presenting him with a gift and a Chieftaincy title.
