McCain’s death has been attracting a lot of reactions both within and outside of his home country, the United States of America and one man that has expressed sadness at the news of his death, is former world heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir Klitschko who on Sunday took to his social media page to express his sadness at the news of the demise of Senator John McCain, called the late US Senator a dear friend of Ukraine, and a Champion.
He said, Senator McCain was a hero, a true warrior and he will forever be grateful to say he was a boxing with a purpose.
Wladimir Klitschko who recently retired from boxing after suffering a horrible defeat in the hands of now world heavyweight champion and British boxer, Anthony Joshua in front of over 90,000 fans at the Wembley stadium, praised the late Senator McCain for how he changed the sport with the “Ali Act”

“Senator John McCain was a hero, a true warrior and I’m grateful to say a boxing fan with a purpose. He changed the sport with the “Ali Act” for the best, he also was a dear friend of Ukraine! R.I.P. Champ”
According to a statement released from his office on Saturday, the US Senator McCain died at 4:28 p.m. local time. He had suffered from a malignant brain tumor, called a glioblastoma, for which he had been treated periodically with radiation and chemotherapy since its discovery in 2017.
Senator John McCain will be buried at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland rather than the Arlington National Cemetery where is father and grandfather, both admirals, are buried.
The former POW, war hero, congressman, senator and two-time Republican presidential candidate chose to U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland his alma mater.
