Twitter new board member Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has praised the staff of the social media giant known as ‘the blackbirds’ for their commitment toward work.

The former Nigerian Finance and foreign affairs Minister was spotted with some staff of Twitter posing for a photograph in San Francisco saying she is proud of the young, passionate and brilliant African and African American origin.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who is probably the most accomplished African woman in the modern era was only a few weeks back appointed into the board of directors of Twitter, as the social media giant reshuffles its board.

Twitter in making the announcement described her as an incredible asset for the company and someone that will bring along her immense experience to the company as they strive towards transparency in their global operations.

While also accepting the Twitter offer, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala said she was excited to with them and with an incredible team and a global platform that is such a strong connector of people and ideas. She said she was thrilled to be working with the team.

She put up the photo with this caption:

She has worked with three Nigerian previous President since the return of civil rule in Nigeria. Her first was with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, as a Minister of Finance, and then with the late former President Umaru Musa Yaradua.

Her last was with the immediate past President Good luck Jonathan where she was the Coordinating Minister for the economy.

She is a well-known figure both within and outside the African continent, and from the photo, she is clearing loving her new role with the social media giant, Twitter.
