Anti-corruption: President Buhari must show integrity-PDP

Atiku no longer 'coming' as Supreme Court Upholds Buhari's election

President Buhari has been asked to show INTEGRITY in his renewed fight on corruption by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as they warned that the jailing of treasury looters as declared by the President must start from within his own government.

The party which was reacting to President Buhari’s statement over the weekend on his return from his 10-day vacation to London, said if the President wants Nigerians to believe he is truly fighting corruption and not his perceived enemies, he should start the fight from his cabinet members and party members who are having one or two allegations of corruption and forgery hanging over their neck.

The statement issued by the PDP National Publicity Secretary Mr. Kola Ologbondiya said that the declaration by President Buhari to jail treasury looters was a welcome development, if only he can start with the likes of his National Chairman of his party, Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Finance Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, Babachir Lawal, Lawal Daura and others. He said:

“We welcome President Buhari’s renewed declaration to jail treasury looters, but we challenge him to show integrity by starting with the investigation and prosecution of his factional National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and other known looters in the APC”

“We also challenge President Buhari to allow an investigation into the alleged stealing of billions of naira by his allies and party chieftains, including the sacked former Director General of the Directorate of Security Services, Lawal Daura, his former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the National Health Insurance Scheme Boss, Prof. Yusuf Usman, etc”

“Furthermore, we challenge Muhammadu Buhari to allow an investigation into the alleged frittering of over N11 trillion in the petroleum sector, under his direct supervision as a minister, including the alleged N9 trillion illegal oil contract as detailed in the leaked presidency memo”

“Muhammadu Buhari should also allow the investigation of his ministers, who as former governors, were indicted of stealing billions of naira belonging to their states, especially, those indicted by his state for allegedly diverting over N40B to finance APC’s 2015 Presidential campaign.”

“Muhammadu Buhari must also investigate how billions of naira allegedly moved from parastatals under his Petroleum ministry to finance the failed attempt to change the leadership of

National Assembly as well as the certificate scandals among his ministers and special advisers”

“These are the people Nigerians have been expecting Muhammadu Buhari to investigate, prosecute and if found wanting sent to jail. Unfortunately, Mr. President has been pursuing perceived political enemies, and innocent opposition members while dining and wining with corrupt persons”
