Manchester City and Pep Guardiola continued their dominance in the English Premier League, as they go top of the table after trashing Huddersfield 6-1.
The win makes it two wins in two for Manchester City, after their triumphant win last week away to Arsenal, who also lost again yesterday to Chelsea.
Manchester City Boss made just two changes from last weekend win, dropping Sterling and new signing Mharez from the Arsenal game, and bringing Silva. The manager lined up: Ederson, Mendy, Kompany (C), Stones, Laporte, Gündogan, Fernandinho, Silva, Bernardo, Jesus, Aguero
with the likes of Bravo, Walker, Sterling, Sané, Mahrez, Otamendi, Foden dropping to the bench.
The Manchester City line up gave us a look of how Pep Guardiola looks to play in the absence of his key midfielder, Kevin De Bruney who has been ruled out for three months due to an injury, and his new lineup did not disappoint.
The game which started lunchtime on Sunday, saw Manchester City putting 6 goals past Huddersfield with goals from Jon Gorenc Stankovic, Aguero (3-goals) Silva and Jesus, and Sane. This means they now top Chelsea on the table with goal difference. Also, Huddersfield are losing their second game of the opening 2018/2019 campaign, after falling at home to Chelsea last weekend.
Sergio Aguero who is Manchester City record goal scorer of all time, wasted so many chances in front of goal, but lived up to expectation to hit home his 13-hat-trick for City, the Argentine who was not composed enough early in the game, seems to have found his shoes, as he slot home another goal for City, finding the net more than once in a single game, for his 13th hat-trick.
The Argentine was substituted for German Leroy Sane who came in to score his first goal for the club this season, as Manchester City show no sign of stopping in their bid to defend the Premier League for the first time after almost a decade.
David Silva who earlier introduced his newborn to the City crowd, also scored on his return, netting the 4th goal of the game, to keep Manchester City goal of defending the title back-to-back alive. But Huddersfield got a consolation goal from Stankovic in the 42-minutes.
In all, it was a Sergio Aguero show, netting his 13th hat-trick for the club, and the question now is, who will stop Manchester city?
