The President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki has called for a judicial panel of injury on the alleged siege on the National Assembly last Tuesday.

Senator Saraki who this morning took to his social media handle to say that the only way Nigeria can move forward and nurture her democracy, will be for President Muhammadu Buhari to carry out an immediate Independent Judicial panel of inquiry that will be thorough and neutral to look into what he called an ‘assault’ on Nigeria’s democracy.
The embattled Senate President who is still holding on tight to what is now referred to as ‘CROWN’ by the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC), shared this views via his social media page a few hours ago. He said:

“The very serious questions about last Tuesday’s siege on the National Assembly can only be answered through a thorough and neutral investigation. I call on Mr. President to immediately institute an independent judicial panel of inquiry to look into that assault on our democracy.”

Although Senator Saraki applauded the move by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo in sacking the then Director General of the Department of Security Services (DSS) Mr. Lawal Daura during his ‘press conference’, Saraki and his colleagues in the National Assembly, especially those in the opposition party of the Peoples Democratic Party want full investigation into the issue, so as to unravel the mystery behind the act that almost truncated our democracy, they said.

Since the incident, it has been one blame game to the order, as both PDP and APC are accusing one another as to those responsible for the National Assembly siege, and the drama seems not to be over.

The Police are still investigating the issue, but just like other political stunts, we can only watch, listen and move on, as nothing will come out of it at the end.
