Senator Godswill Akopabio has been received by President Muhammadu Buhari in London, as rumour of his planned defection thickens.
The Senate Minority representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial zone of Akwa Ibom state, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is alleged to be in London to formally notify the President of his defection to the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Akpabio earlier in the week met with the acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo on his plans to leave PDP for APC, which have been communicated to the public by the Presidential Adviser on National Assembly matters, Senator Ita Enang.
Senator Ita Enang who took to his social media page to break the news said Senator Akpabio will make his official decamping from the PDP to the ruling party of APC come Wednesday, August 8th, 2018.
If this happens, it is also likely that the Governor of the state Udom Emmanuel will also decamp to the APC, following in the footstep of his godfather Senator Godswill Akpabio….interesting!
While Nigerians were busy watching and discussing Senator Bukola Saraki, little did they know that Senator Akpabio had his own personal agenda…lol…and I will not be surprised to see him take the other two Senators from Akwa Ibom along with him….we might be looking at the Senate President in a few weeks to come. But Ahmed Lawan missing out the second time?
