The popular Ojota dump site in Lagos has been gutted by huge fire, as properties worth millions of naira were reported to have been destroyed in the inferno. The fire which started on Wednesday afternoon at about 3:45 pm, is still raging up still this morning, as Lagos State Emergency Rescue Teams and Fire firefighters battles t0 put off the fire. It is also reported that almost all the Lagos State Public transport LAGBUS parked in those areas have all been consumed by the fire, together with four refuse evacuation trucks and private properties along those areas.

The dump site is the first thing that greets you when entering Lagos State through the popular Ojota area, and notoriously known for its stench and some criminal activities of scavengers and lots of unregulated burning in and around the dump site. But as at this time, the Lagos State emergency Agency are yet to ascertain the cause of the inferno, and the area now is a no go areas to motorist as the traffic there is very heavy. more updates to come:
