The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has joined some women group in the state to take a stand and walk in support of War-Against Sexual And Gender Violence in the State. The Governor who in the early hours of today shared some photos of their activities, praised the move, as he promised the State and his administration will do everything in terms of enacting laws and also making sure the already existing laws in the State are followed on gender-based issues.
Ambode who has always supported women groups in the State, took part in the early morning advocacy walk to create awareness.

The move is part of the event to mark International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day in the State, and the Governor also celebrated his mother in an Instagram post yesterday, is throwing his weight behind the group, as he showed support with this message:
I joined the advocacy walk against sexual and gender based violence to show support for our women. #NoToSexualViolence
Our interventions have provided a solid platform for waging war against Sexual & gender based Violence. Our aim is to build a system of trust and accountability, where survivors are encouraged to speak out and potential perpetrators are discouraged to commit future acts. #NoToSexualViolence
