Since making his big money move back to his childhood club and where Professional football started for him, life has never been the same. It has been ‘Pogba Against the English Press’ kind of experience, as his critics just cannot wait to feed on every seconds he spends on the field of play without him having any positive impact.
Manchester United is a big club no doubt and spending such a huge sum to bring back the French International and former Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba to the club, comes with huge responsibility not only to the club but also the player. Millions of United fans around the world are still waiting for the player to be ‘unlocked’ as he has failed to hit the ground running.
In previous games, the player were ridiculed, with him even be substituted by his coach in a game in which he was wearing the captain armband, a situation that fueled rumour of him falling out with his Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho. But if anything, the game between Manchester United and Chelsea at the weekend, where United were lucky to have won, and the performance of Paul Pogba, clearly showed the midfielder still has it in him.
His resurgence at the second half of the game, with dazzling skills, which put off Premier league best defensive midfielder in Kante, helped United take all three points yesterday. Taking nothing from the performance of Chelsea though, they played well, controlled the game, and they could have finished it off, if not for the misses and lack of the ‘right attitude’ (in Conte’s voice) from striker Morata, with Lukaku showing him how it is done.
Paul Pogba who displayed maturity during the game, took to his Instagram page to share his secret which most people have criticized him of, as the energy to his performance yesterday. He gave credit to his new hair, after putting up the pictures with a caption:
