PHOTO: President Buhari finally met with Benue Governor and Stakeholders in Abuja

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammed Buhari, earlier today, met with the Governor of Benue State, Mr Ortom and some key stakeholders from the state.

The meeting is coming weeks after the massacre of farmers in a local community in Benue state by suspected herdsmen. The killings which really got the attention of the presidency, was the last one where over 30 persons were allegedly killed by herdsmen, and were given mass burial with three days of mourning declared by the state government.

The killings has attracted public outcry, both within and outside the country, even from the leaders of the National Assembly, with all fingers pointed at the ineffective security agencies.

The President meeting with the stakeholders from the state, promised to look into the matter, assuring them of his utmost support in terms of security. He was quoted to have said:

I have just finished a meeting with stakeholders from Benue State. My message to them: I will fully keep the oath I swore to protect all Nigerians. The Police, Army and DSS are working hard to keep Benue safe, and to bring all the perpetrators of the killings to justice.

The President, after the meeting, took a group photograph with the delegates from Benue state and some of his officials. See more pictures:
