Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and his fourth wife, Olori Folashade are celebrating the first birthday of their son today.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi in ushering in the first birthday of his prince on behalf of the entire sons and daughters of Oduduwa, took to his official social media handle on Wednesday 3rd September, 2025, to post series of photos of his son to celebrate the future Ooni on his first birthday. And as tradition would demand, the Ooni of Ife shared a short but powerful prayer to his son as he celebrates today.
“You are a true blessing to me and to the sacred throne of Oduduwa. As you continue to grow in wisdom, strength and grace, always remember the divine heritage you carry as a prince of Ile-Ife.
As you celebrate your birthday, may your path be guided by the values of honour, humility and service to humanity.
I am proud to see you walking in the light of Olodumare as you are one today.
With fatherly love and royal blessings” the Ooni of Ife captioned his post to his son.
The Oba and his wife who got married in a traditional ceremony in 2022, welcomed their son on this day last year, 2024. The Ooni of ife in announcing the arrival of his son in 2024, had posted this message that reads:
“To God be the glory things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire Huse of Oduduwa and Olofri Folashade, who today birthed a Prince from the mother side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House compound of Giesi Ruling house combined to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.
Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty and in line with the spirits of our ancestors,” the Oba captioned the photo.
Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi married Princess Ashley Folashade Adegoke in 2022, coming barely five days after the respected traditional Yoruba monarch married his third wife, Tobi Philips.
Princess Ashley Folashade Adegoke is reportedly an Ebira lady from Kogi State, her mother hails from Erin-Ile in Kwara and her family lives in Ilorin.
