Broadway stars Ben Platt and Noah Galvin are married following a two-year engagement.
Ben Platt and Noah Galvin tied-the-knot on Sunday, September 1, during a multi-day celebration surrounded by family and friends that ultimately took them to Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
‘We couldn’t have asked for anything more,’ Galvin, 30, told Vogue. ‘We are still floating. And mostly we’re happy we get to keep hanging out forever.’
‘Our greatest hope was to give everyone a joyful, low-stress weekend full of warmth and a window into our relationship and the life that we are building,’ Platt said.
‘And we wanted the dancing to go off,’ the Los Angeles continued. ‘We feel that all missions were accomplished!’
The celebration kicked off with a Friday night Shabbat welcome dinner at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Downtown Manhattan.
There was also also an after-party with musical theater singalongs, as well as a game night on Saturday.
‘Since some of Ben’s family are observant Jews, we couldn’t get married until Sunday when Shabbat was over, so to keep the party going we had a bar hang with some games and Lombardi’s pizza on Saturday night at Cellar Dog in the West Village,’ The Good Doctor star explained.
All the fun and games culminated with the pair’s nuptials, which was officiated by Platt’s longtime rabbi, David Wolpee.
Among the VIP guests included Beanie Feldstein, Kaitlyn Dever, Zoey Deutch and boyfriend Jimmy Tatro, partners Cynthia Erivo and Lena Waithe, Kathryn Gallagher, Younger stars Molly Bernard and Tessa Albertson, Broadway star Micaela Diamond, Owen Thiele, and Eve Lindley. The band Muna gave a special surprise performance!
The ceremony concluded with a duet performance by their moms of a classic Jewish wedding song.
‘And then, we both stepped on glasses,’ Galvin confessed of the special moment. ‘And they broke, thank God!’

Platt confessed his ‘highlight of the night’ was the ‘surprise concert by our all-time favorite band Muna,’ as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
‘At this point, our souls left our bodies and we have yet to return,’ he said. ‘We will never be able to repay them. They even brought out Noah’s brother Adrian — a.k.a. Yoke Lore to finish the set with them on Silk Chiffon.’
Ben Platt and Noah Galvin first met back in 2014 when Galvin was creating a web series with some mutual friends and asked Platt to play a guest role.
‘Our first meeting was shooting with a tiny crew in his mom’s old apartment doing improv together,’ Platt recalled of their first time working together. ‘I was playing his weird roommate who loved cacti and cried over his distant cousin Josh Groban. Noah was medium into it.’
The pair both gained national recognition for their portrayals of the titular character in Broadway’s coming-of-age musical Dear Evan Hansen.
Initially, it was Platt who originated the role during the show’s initial run at the Music Box Theatre in 2016, which earned him a Tony Award for Best Actor In A Leading Role in a Musical.
But then the following year Galvin was named as a temporary replacement for the title role.
He would go on to officially take over the character of Evan Hansen in November 2017, and assume that role all the way through February 4, 2018.
Platt’s film resume includes Pitch Perfect film series (2012-2017), Ricki and the Flash (2015), Run This Town (2019) and Theater Camp, while in recent years he’s starred in the Netflix series The Politician (2019-2020).
Galvin’s more notable roles include Olivia Wilde’s film Booksmart (2019), as well as the sitcom The Real O’Neals (2016-2017) and the medical drama The Good Doctor (2020-2024).
