A Texas woman Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi in Woodway, Texas, was arrested after allegedly dragging a child to a bathroom and making him drink water from a toilet.
The Texas woman Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi was placed in custody on April 3 after the child arrived at school in tears and told counselors and teachers at the school about the incident, according to an April 4 news release from the Woodway Public Safety Department, according to the report by People.
The boy told school officials that “he was dragged to the bathroom by his hair and his head was forced into the toilet where he was forced to drink toilet water,” per the department.
He also informed officials that he “was missing pieces of his hair” as a result of the incident.
Following his allegations, Woodway police and Child Protective Services investigated the situation further, and discovered that the young boy had allegedly been the victim of several other “violent incidents.”
According to the Woodway Public Safety Department, these incidents allegedly included “being punched, hit with miscellaneous objects, and not being fed for long periods of time.”
Following the investigation, Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi was arrested and placed in custody for injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury.
The boy, meanwhile, was placed with a family member for his safety. The statement from Woodway Public Safety Department did not indicate the relationship between the child and Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi, however, it stated that he was “in her care.”
In their final comments in the April 4 statement, the Woodway Public Safety Department lauded officials for their work handling the “difficult investigation.”
“Great work school personnel for noticing and moving this investigation forward,” the department said. “Great work CPS and our local Advocacy Center for assisting with the investigation. Great work Woodway Officers and Detectives for completing this difficult investigation.”
