Nollywood actress and brand influencer, Chioma Akpotha has revealed that one act of love she received over 17 years ago, that endeared her to her senior colleague in the movie industry, Faithia Williams.
In celebrating Faithia Williams on her 55th birthday on Monday 5th February 2024, Chioma Akpotha joining other millions of Nollywood movie fans across the world to celebrate the veteran actress and filmmaker, revealed to over seven million of her Instagram followers why she holds Faithia Williams on a very high pedestal. And that secret or act of love as she puts it, has to do with her then 6-month-old son in the year, 2007.
Posting a video of Faithia Williams dancing on her official Instagram handle, Chioma Akpotha captioned the video narrating how the actress saved her and her son in 2007 which was the year she made her first ever trip outside of Nigeria, and an experience she will never forget, all because of the good deeds of Faithia Williams.
Here is how she narrated her encounter with Faithia Williams in 2007, as a young mother and upcoming Nollywood actress:
“There is one act of love I got from Fathia Williams that I will never forget. In the month of October 2007, a group of Nollywood film practitioners travelled to the United Kingdom for the first Nollywood Premier ever in Leicester Square “Across The Niger” I had my 6-month-old baby with me and had no clue how I would navigate the whole trip especially when it was my first trip ever outside Nigeria and was alone with my child.
God sent Aunty Fathia! She was an Angel in disguise (still it) She took care of me like I was her flesh and blood. Cared for me and my child, like she would her own. She went everywhere with us most times carrying my son herself. She knew instantly when he needed to be fed and when it was time for a nappy change and nap time too. She would rock him to sleep. Aunty Faithia always came to check on us in the room mostly to see that I wasn’t baking my son because I always turned the heating so high as it was very cold at that time of the year…(I hate the cold). She was intentional with her love and care towards us. These are gestures that make life beautiful. They can never be forgotten,” she added.
She continued:
“Family, please help me show massive love to Faithia Williams as she celebrates her birthday today. She is a beautiful woman in and out. I love you now and always Aunty Faithia,” she ended her write-up.
Faithia Williams who was formerly known as Faithia Balogun, clocked a year older on Monday, and the beautiful and talented actress took to her official social media handles to mark the day with lovely snaps.
In one of the snaps, she captioned the photo speaking about herself and trust. She also appreciated God for her new age and hoped for exciting adventures this year. The caption reads:
“I’m the only one person I can trust the most, because I know myself perfectly and even how strong I can be. Hope this year will be interesting and full of adventures,” her caption read.
