Singer Yemi Alade has yet again, put her name in the history books, as she got the rare privilege of getting her handprint stamped in Cannes alongside Legendary Stewart Copeland and Jean-Michel Jarre to kick start the Midem24 conference in France.
Singer Yemi Alade who only recently made history for herself and Nigeria by performing at the opening ceremony of the 2024 African Nations Cup (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, on Friday 26th posted a series of photos from her stamping ceremony in Cannes France on Thursday.
She posted the photos where she was surrounded by Stewart Copeland and Jean-Michel Jarre while she pressed her hands into a wet cement block during the handprint ceremony.
The energetic and lively entertainer popularly known as ‘Mama Africa’ revealed to millions of her fans on her official social media handle, that took part in the handprint ceremony ahead of the Midem24 conference in France, where she also announced that she has been appointed as an ambassador to Midem.
She captioned the photos with a caption that reads:
“This young legend made history in the last 24 hours as i printed my hand stamps in Cannes alongside legendary Stewart Copeland and Jean Michel to kick start Midem24. Thank you for making me your ambassador, Midem. It’s an honour“.
She continued:
“The last 48 hours have been a movie, we had dinner with the mayor, his deputy, and all the movers and shakers of the music and movie industry in Cannes. It’s been unreal I will do a proper recap in a bit,” she added.
MIDƐM is a global event dedicated to music professionals, is organized by the Mairie de Cannes and its Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, in collaboration with Hopscotch and with the support of Allover/Panda Events.
Yemi Alade’s revelation comes after her electric performance on Thursday at the stage of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Stewart Copeland, Yemi Alade, and Jean-Michel Jarre are ambassadors of Midem.
