SAG award nominations for the 30th annual ceremony were announced Wednesday, with Barbie Oppenheimer mirroring their big summers at the box office by leading the way with four nominations apiece, while on the TV side the last season of Succession scored five noms to lead the field.
Noms were revealed in a presentation hosted by Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, Deadline reports.
Winners in the 15 SAG award nominations categories will be announced Saturday, February 24 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles in a ceremony streaming live on Netflix. It’s the first time on the streamer for the SAG Awards since signing a multiyear partnership last year.
The SAG Awards have been a dead-on predictor of future Oscars success the past two years. Last year, Everything Everywhere All at Once scored the ensemble Cast trophy as well as wins for Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Kwan — all four repeated the feat later at the Oscars, as did SAG Best Actor winner Brendan Frasier from The Whale.
It was similarly in line in 2022, with CODA, Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Troy Kotsur and Ariana DeBose winning both at SAG and the Academy Awards.
On the TV side, Abbott Elementary returns after winning SAG’s Comedy Series Cast award last year, while The White Lotus was the Drama Series Cast winner but was not eligible this time around.
