A suspected Nigerien cable thief has been arrested by the operatives of the Lagos State Police Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos, the Police stated in a released statement.
According to the statement released on Thursday 28th December 2023, by the Lagos State Police Command, the suspected Nigerien cable thief was arrested on Wednesday around 1:00 p.m., by RRS while on routine patrol of Third Mainland Bridge.
The suspect identified as Seidu Ali (24) and Nigerien, is being arrested for the second in three weeks.
He had earlier been arrested and reprimanded for attempting to steal cable on Third Mainland Bridge.
The operatives of RRS retrieved from four bounded strands of cables from the suspect.
The Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed that he be charged to court immediately.
