Real Madrid shot-stopper, Thibaut Courtois has broken his anterior cruciate ligament in training this morning, and was taken off on a stretcher.
Thibaut Courtois with this injury, could be out for up to five or seven months, which could push Real Madrid into the market for a new goalkeeper.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had not suffered a serious injury so far throughout his career. Last year he played 43 games divided between La Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey.
The official statement from Real Madrid reads:
“After the tests carried out on our player Thibaut Courtois, he has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days,”.
