A total of 26 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) in Kubwa, a suburb of Abuja, a statement posted on their official social media account stated.
According to the statement released on Thursday, May 18th 2023, the anti-graft commission stated that the 26 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested by the Abuja Zonal Command, today, May 18, 2023.
The names of the arrested internet fraudsters were given as: Favour Obinna, Chinaza Onuigbo, Abdulrahman Ibrahim, Suleiman Daude, Ali Daude, Godwin Ifeanyi, Victor Ageme and Enoch Alfa. Others are Wisdom Ndubuisi, Matthew Gideon, Stanly Kosi, Japhet Akogun, James Efegha, Christopher Enaho, Daniel Benjamin and Idris Salvation.
Also arrested are Idris Victor, Ikechukwu Ephraim Idris,Abdullahi Sani, Jeremiah Yacim, Chindu Chukwuma, Mohammed Daude Hamisu, Tochukwu Trust, Theophilus Marshal, Sani Solomon and Chukwu Nnaemeka Oscar.
Items recovered from them include a Toyota Camry SE, a Mercedes Benz GLK 350 and 2 Lexus IS 250 cars, mobile phones and laptops.
The suspects, EFCC stated that they will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
