The Delta state Police Inspector who allegedly shot and killed one Mr Onyeka Ibe over N100 bribe, has been dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force, and also charged to court, the state Command spokesperson said in a statement.
According to the statement released on Wednesday 19th April 2023, by the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DCP Bright Edafe, in his statement, confirmed that the Delta State Police Inspector identified as Inspector Ubi Ebri, has been dismissed. He also stated that the accused has been charged to court and remanded in Ogwashi-Uku prison.
As we reported here a few weeks ago, the accident that led to the shooting to death of the man identified by Police as Onyeka Ibe, started when the victim refused to give the Policemen on routine stop and search duty N100 along the Ugbolu-Asaba road in Asaba, Delta State.
Angry youths took over the town to protest the alleged killings by the Police.
There is tension in the town as youths matched along major streets in search of Policemen to vent their anger.
