Nigerian and fast rising Afrobeats singer and songwriter Tems has finally reacted to her first Grammy award win.
Tem’s reaction which came on Wednesday 8th February 2023, which is three days after she won the award, is coming a few hours after a fan questioned her silence on social media for not making a post about her becoming the first Nigerian female entertainer to have won the award.
Tems who took home her first ever Grammy award at the just concluded 65th Academy award ceremony in Los Angeles United States, on Sunday, taking to her official social media handle on Wednesday, tweeted saying:
“To everyone one that has been supporting me still. Through everything, please know I don’t take it for granted. I truly appreciate it, the love has been too too much. Thank you so much Rebel Gang. We up very soon,” she said.
She continued:
“What God has done for me, I can’t even speak. All the glory really belongs to Him,” she added.
The Nigerian singer songwriter Tems won with the song ‘Wait For U’ for Best Melodic Rap Performance, in which she was featured in alongside Drake and Future. The song is originally owned by Future which is off the album, ‘I Never Liked You’ released in 2022, featuring vocals from Tems and Drake.
